More recycling?

Take a look at this:
These are shopping bags made out of an old t-shirt made by delia creates!

Cover Tutorial *2*

Adhere the cardboard as shown. This picture shows the outside.
That's the inside. As you can see, i adhered also cardboard to the inside spine for more stability.
Now you can start to decorate it.

I painted all the edges (inside and outside) with black acrylic paint. For the round closure i used pitch black alcohol ink.

Finally adhere the paper. I used Cosmo Cricket *circa 1934*
I did only the outside, because i don't know what embellishment i'm going to use for the cover.
So, if i'm going to use brads which you will see inside, i can cover them up later.

Thanks for watching and visiting my blog
Elly (:o)

Cover Tutorial *1*

Cut three sides. Above, under and the right side to open the carton.
It will look like this now!
Now you get an idea???
Measure the spine (left) to make a closure for the right side.

I used cardboard. My spine measures 7 cm width and i took the same height as the carton.
Now you need the measurements for the opener.

I proofed one of my punches and it fit's perfectly. You can also lay the cardboard under the hole, trace with a pencil and then cut with scissors.
Here i made a proofcut on a leftover and i traced on my cardboard to mark for the punch.
Now it looks like this.

What's on my work desk?

Working on a new album cover using this:
A milk carton (tetra pak)
I've found the idea here and now i'm working on my own version of this mini. I want to make it a little bit bigger but i have to say: I love recycling and the idea with the closure. Thank's Steffie (:o)
The next days, i will show you how i do this step by step.

I really like to use clock's and watchparts in my artwork
These are some finds from ebay

These i made on my own

Search for graphics in the internet and print in different sizes. Adhere on cardboard. Distress and use glossy accent or mix with Tim Holtz stuff (:o)

My last atc swap was about castle. We have a lot in germany as well in my city but i love this one:
Schloss Marienburg   about 50 miles far from where i live. Looks like one out of a fairy tale. You can plan your wedding there. Very romantic....

Happy weekend

Script stamp, clear heat embossed. Tim Holtz distress ink. Spiced marmelade, fired brick for the first and spiced marmelade, vintage photo for the second. Embellish you like...

Box Cover

Glue on some embellishment with Mod Podge. I used some chipboard gears, rings, a Tim Holtz grungeboard key and an old chain. A layer of Mod Podge over that all adheres a crinkled aluminiumfoil. Use your fingers to let the embellies show thru the foil. Then i used Lumiere Pearl Turquise, black acrylic paint and a little gold Rub'n buff.
Embellish more you like. I used a face artmould filled with  hotglue. Wings and chipboards painted with acrylic black and gold. There is a graphic 45 tag, because i want to make an album that fit's inside. Witch will be steampunkthemed from that paperline.

It brightens my day to watch her blog. Can you imagine what it means to me, to hold it in my hands what she made? OMG!!

Bird of the year 1995

First i thought, there were more than two birds, they can't sleep and talking together, but it was only one, who makes that beautiful noises.
Have you ever heard a nightingale?
Two weeks ago, a nightingale moved into my tree in front of the window of my sleepingroom. Since then, the bird sings me to sleep. Very pretty, i tell you and i will miss it when the bird get's mute in june.
If you will listen:

My Muse

My passion, my muse and my first chipboard album ever i finished nearly one year ago. A lot cutting with scissors and a bunch of selfmade things. I still love it, but i will do a second one and it will look a little bit more elegant. Elly

Canvas Re - Do ... a work in progress

First...painting an old canvas with gesso. After that, i used gold dabber in two corners.
Here i used some paper from graphic 45 *a proper gentlemen* Glued to the corners.
Nexed layer a 12" black cardstock and another cut from the same paperline with clocks.

Arranged more paper and a cut of chickenwire
Now the embellishment. Some diecuts, a gear, some buttons, pictures and tags.
And here a pocketwatch i found on ebay.
I have to tell you, that it wasn't my idea. I found it somewhere in the www, but i like it. So, why not? I lift it up on my way.

My start in the big world wide web

From time to time i will show you the creativ side of my life. I hope you enjoy and maybe i can give you a little inspiration.
