Halloween Cuckoo Clock

Halloween is near.......

I've bought this Tando Cuckoo Clock with mechanism at Crafty Individuals.

Here you see how i started

I used some self - adhesive Aluminium - Tape from the hardware store and Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fades *Riveted Metal* with my Cuttlebug ....

.....and a lot acrylic paint, washes and drybrushing

The skull head is a cast from plaster and the background paper is DCWV Tattered Time

The spider (above left) and the skull head / raven / bat (above right) are printed on acetate and adhered to the background paper

I adhered some skull hands to the clock handles and applied washes of acrylic paint.
The clock is still working (:o)

Painted the skull legs, too

Happy, sunny sunday (:o)

Masculine Layout

This is a commission work for a friend. I used paper from the craftsman collection from Prima.

The images, saying and gears are printed on acetate

The craftsman collection is really great for masculine and steampunkish projects.

Happy Wednesday (:o)

More Plaster Obsession

Actually this is the leftover plaster out of my bucket, you wait to dry for to throw it away. That's why this piece is round. I also used a stencil, modeling paste and again a timeworn painting technique for the background. I used a mould for the plaster face.

Happy Monday (:o)

Something Archaeolgy?

Today i want to show you my excavation -  piece i've made at the Outcasts Workshop with Andy Skinner. Well....Halloween is near and i think it fits perfect for a creepy scene.

To be honest, it wouldn't look like this without doing the Timeworn Workshop  before.
Hopefully you're not too scared now, to leave your appreciated comment i always love to read.

Journal Cover

Simon says Stamp and Show is asking for our favorite. This can be a technique, photo, product, idea or even a favorite theme.
Today i want to show you, how i've made two of my journal covers. I used an empty oreo cookie box and one of  rice. One of my favorite things to do is recycling or upcycling projects.

Cut to size and adhere some tissue paper. Crumble up if you like

Paint both sides with acrylic paint. I used gesso first...

Now you can use stamps with archival or stazon ink....i used a female theme on the rice packaging...

... and a steampunk theme on oreo

I dryed with the heatgun and applied colour washes with acrylic paint

After drying, i sealed both cover with Ranger Gel Medium matt

Here's the finished ( Oreo) steampunk journal

( Rice) Journal Cover

Adhered paper to the inside

I hope you like it and maybe you're inspired to make one, too.

Thanks as always for your appreciated comments
Happy Monday (:o)

Pizza - Box Layout

Hi folks (:o) Before i wish you a nice weekend, i want to show you a layout i've made. A few weeks ago, i scanned in a lot pictures of my parents. There was also one of there wedding day at the register office and because i just received some ordered stuff in  a pizza box .....i thought this will make a nice frame.
I used my favorite paperline, the Prima Almanac Collection.

Not a lot timeworn in this case, even no use of plaster but i hope you like it also (:o)
Now then i wish you a nice weekend

Establish a Connection

....between plaster and rust....was my mission for this week. (:o)
During the Outcasts Workshop i'm casting different objects and certainly i try to combine it with the Simon says Stamp and Show Challenge which is asking for *Rustification*

I have casted a frame and went mad with acrylic paint techniques from the Timeworn Workshop.

I didn't painted the face of plaster, so you can imagine the colour of the frame before i started painting.
I'm always surprised again, about the possibilitys of acrylic paint.

Dunking back in my plaster bath (:o)
Thanks for your appreciated comments

I take a bath

If you are missing me......i take a bath...and i'm swimming in plaster (:o)
Sure you noticed, that the Outcasts Workshop started and i'm very busy creating different pieces of artwork. Oh..what a fun....and sorry if i'm a little bit behind with my comments on your blogs. I try my best between drytime, work and a bit laundry (:o)

I can show you a cast of my hand. It's ... a piece of breaking rules, because this one is not part of the workshop, but i guess...some of you'll like it.

Nice use for some creepy Halloween Decoration, don't you think?

I'm so busy, that i nearly missed to winning challenges.
- SSSS - Sparkle Challenge - Leaf
- Crafty Individuals Blog - September Challenge - Bird House

Thanks soooo much.
Doing the happy dance (:o)

Flower Power

This project i had in mind for a while after reading a blogpost from La-De-Dah in april.
Now..it's the right time to start ....because the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge is asking for Leaf - Spiration.

I started with a bunch of coloured circles and leaves from old book pages and i used 300 g cardstock for my background...

I've coloured the background with different templates and acrylic paint. On top a colour wash...

After it dryed, i stamped only the stems with acrylic paint

I sewed around the edges and on stems. Decided for a more blue-ish backgound and applied more paint

Sewed on the leaves, also

Adhered the circle flowers with gel medium. On top some buttons and white dots with a gel pen around the leaves. Sponged  some fired brick distress ink around the edges.

I still had enough circles and leaves...so i've also made a card the same way

I think i'm going to use the background as a book cover. That's why i didn't applied any saying yet

My leaf - spiration (:o)
Thanks for reading and your appreciated comments
