Inspired by the letter S

Hi Crafters (:o) You guess right, it's Simon Says Stamp and Show time. This week challenge is brought to us by the letter S. My S for this week is Stool. Actually i have three of them, but i transformed one for this week challenge. My first thought was, to paint the stool in shabby style to fit my corridor, otherwise i wanted to use my stash of the older Tim Holtz paperline ....and just because I have three of them.....

Let's see

Here you see, how i started

Sanding by hand

I painted the edges with DecoArt Traditions titanium white first and after drytime i applied burnt umber with a dry brush and wiped a bit off.

My choice of paper for the top adhered with Decou - Page

I used Tim Holtz Tissue Tape for the difficult edges. Adhered with Decou - Page also. Some measuring for the legs, adhered more paper and also Tissue Tape for the edging. I used some burnt umber with a baby wipe on top of the paper for an antiquing effect. Finally a clear coat DecoArt Patio Paint on top.

I'm also busy painting a shabby style at home. It's renovation - time at our stairway

This picture is from last week

Primed the stairs, now

Hope you enjoyed my S - Obsession (:o)

Elly...this stool is awesome! What a great idea. What a cool thing to do with all of Tim's excess papers that you have! I have the same problem. haha Very smart use of the Tissue Tape, too. You are so creative! Love your work! Thanks for sharing it with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy

Your stool has had a wonderful makeover Elly. Clever to use the tissue tape on the awkward edges too.
As Mark says, when you've finished your stairway, just pop over and bring your paintbrushes to my house please - plenty of things need a makeover here!
