Christmas Bauble

Happy monday, dear crafters (:o) 16 days till christmas and today i want to show you, how you can make a unique handmade christmas bauble.

Supplies:  Styrofoam bauble, styrofoam stars, aluminium foil, tissue paper, Gesso as well as the following products from DecoArt Modeling Paste, DecouPage, Perfect Crackle, DuraClear Varnish, Faux Finishing Medium,Traditions Acrylic Paint ( Aquamarine, Quinacridone Gold), Americana Arylic Paint (Antique White) and Metallic Lustre (Champagne Ice).

Adhere aluminium foil to bauble with DecouPage
Cut stars in half and adhere to bauble with Decoupage

Dilute DecouPage a bit and  glue down the tissue paper. This step will hold everything in place.
Let dry
Use a thin layer of modeling paste for texture.
Let dry
Paint Gesso and let dry
Use your favorite coloured acrylic paint and let dry
Use another colour for the stars and let dry
 Seal with DuraClear Matt Varnish
At the bottom of the bauble, i've used the image transfer technique from Mr. Skinner

Next, i applied perfect crackle and after drying a wash of Traditions Acrylic Quinacridone Gold on top

I drybrushed aquamarine paint and metallic lustre and sealed with DuraClear Matt Varnish

I hope you like it and maybe you give it a try (:o)

How very, very cool... It's amazing how the face looks so embedded in the crackle, like an ancient painting - it's just wonderful, Elly!
