Roody is back again

The Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge is into the wood, this week. If you have a look at all the incredible DT creations, you'll see that there is more than one way to get inspired.
Look, what Roody's presenting (:o) and you know when he pop's up, it can only be another French Country Creation with the Graphic 45 paperline.

I bought this wooden / wire box planted with some daffodils with easter and i gave it a complete new covering.

I painted the edges with DecoArt Traditions black acrylic and used Decou - Page matt to adhere the paper to the box and also used as sealer.
I used a breeze of inka gold to the edges, too

I did a lot fuzzy cutting, again. I've cut 2 sheets of 12" x 12" paper, for the sunflowers

And...by pure chance, i found this nice organza ribbon with sunflowers, which makes a nice decor, too

Inside the box, there's a little Mini Beer Mat Album. This Mini Album is inspired by Zuzu. You'll find more information here.

I did a little modification for the binding, as i used the shaped hinge binding technique by Laura Denison.
You'll find the video here.

I hope you feel inspired, too (:o)
Thanks for your patience reading  up to the end and leaving your very appreciated comments.

Take it, Make it

The current blog challenge at Craft Stamper *ripping / tearing* is still running till midnight Friday June 7th.
You can find all the details how to play here
The winner gets their work published  in Craft Stamper magazine, not to mention winning a cool stamp from Indigo Blu

The challenge is concentrated on the ripping and tearing technique, demonstrated by the great artist Helen Chilton on pages 78 - 81 of the May 2013 issue.

My entry

What a fab challenge to use my new stamps from Personal Impressions called *Traditional British Set 1*
The background paper is from 7Gypsies, the Lille paperpad
It's still a bit time, so why not join in?
Thanks for reading and your appreciated comments

Altered Playing Card with my favorite ink

Simon Says Stamp and Show is asking for this week challenge, to use your favorite ink. That's tricky, because i'm mostly using paint. I love to alter things...so when i can't use my paints, the next favorite ink i'll use is alkohol ink. And just because there's another monthly challenge running at SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenge *Altered Playing Cards*, i wanted to kill two birds with one stone.

Ok, i cheat a bit ( that fit's the playing card theme somehow *lol*), because the background of the tag is definitely paint. I had a play with a Master Skinner technique and he calls it *Walnut effect*. The tutorial can be found here. I'm always trying new techniques on smaller surfaces before i start a new project and because i'm never wasting anything, i used this tag as background, for my excuses.

Thanks so much  for reading and leaving your very appreciated comments (:o)

TIO #141 Yellow - Lightbulbs - Wire

I'm always happy, when i get it managed, to play with DragonsDream TIO challenge. Theme this week is yellow, lightbulb, wire and at least one stamp.
For the background i used DI wild honey and stamped randomly, the second image for a softer look, with one of Tim Holtz's background stamps in black archival. On top i used a Crafters Workshop stencil and a clear drying gel medium. The main stamp is a new one from LaBlanche and the lightbulb / saying is from Wendy Vecchi / Studio 490.

Come on!!

Something Flip Flop with a little paper

I converted a horizontal wooden mini album with rings to some kinda vertical flip flop stand. The holes are covered with paper now and i mounted some hinges, for a flip flop opening. The Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge this week, is asking to use small sizes of paper.

I did a lot fuzzy cutting from both ( Graphic 45 - French Country) paperlines, the 12 x 12 and the 8 x 8. There is also a 6 x 6 available, with only backgrounds.

Talking about little cut outs. The size of the pictures inside the little frames is 1" x 1,5"

I love this paperline, because it's so versatile.
There actually isn't a lot to say about it as mostly it is just cutting and layering the papers
Hope you like this little project
Thanks for your appreciated comments

Mind - Blowing Facts

Different holidays on different dates
Today, it's father's day in Germany

Father's day in Germany has a different origin and is a very different observance than the American version. Germany's *Vatertag* began in the Middle Ages as a religious procession honoring *God, the father* on Ascension Day ( Christ Himmelfahrt, usually in May). Although as late as the 1700s Vatertag was a family day for honoring dad, somehow things went sour and in the 19th century the custom reappeared in Berlin as a less refined and very alcoholic celebration on that same date. Today Germany's Vatertag is supposed to be closer  to a *boys' day out* and a pub tour with the guys ( Männerrunde) than the more family oriented Father's Day in the U.S.
Oh Germans and their love for beer. The men ( few of them father's) pull wagons full of alcohol through the streets to celebrate their day. They cap it off by getting together and drinking the alcohol they so fearless and in a manly manner drug through the streets and later use their wagons to be dragged home after getting rip - roaring drunk. They just use the day to get plastered and have a good time.

Happy Father's Day

Somehow, i prefer the american version

12 tags of 2013 - May

The may tag of master Tim is about rub on resist. Well, i can't say you see much resist on my tag just because i used other rub on's than idea - ology. Instead of using the mona lisa stamp ( i don't own), i made an image transfer with multi matt medium. As always a lot modification to get his look, but that's my challenge.

Thanks for reading (:o)
