Prima Engraver Keepsake Box

Hi crafters, bloggers, friends and appreciated followers (:o) Weekend is around the corner.
Did i mentioned somewhere along the way, that i started as YouTuber one year before i started blogging? Well, most of my knowledge about scrapbooking i've learned there and i still do or get a lot inspiration. I guess it was 2010, as i detected a video, where someone was creating a keepsake box from stacked old envelopes. I think it was someone from Stamping Up DT, but i'm not sure.
Well, nearly the same way i've created my keepsake box with a little twist, because i've also created a little mini - album to fit inside. For those of you, who are interested in  *the making of*  the keepsake box, i've wraped my tutorial with music and converted to a video to let you swing into the weekend (:o) Well, if you don't share my taste of music, switch the sound off *lol* Anyway it's only 7 minutes...

For those of you, who are not interested in the making of....
...here is my...

Prima Engraver Keepsake Box
made with envelopes
and mini - album inside

Another little notice
If you open your mail box and you discover any envelope of these below...

...than...you've received one of my ICAD's, because they are mailed

Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks for reading and your appreciated comments
Happy crafting

Take it, Make it

The current blog challenge at Craft Stamper is about acetate and stamping. Read more about the rules and guidelines for the challenge here. The challenge is running till midnight Friday October 4th 2013.

My entry
Some tag hanging thingies ( don't know how to call it (:o) and an inspiration book

I stamped with StazOn black and cherry red on acetate, i normaly use in my laser printer. The sheets are A4 size. I took two sheets and cut into 4" pieces and the leftovers are used for the tags. So i got 8 pages for a little mini - steampunk - inspiration book and 4 tags.

I' ve marked the outlines of the acetate on a sheet of papertowel to see where i'm going to stamp.

I applyed alkohol ink on the back and stamped on the back, too

Some of the images are heat embossed with embossing powder and also painted with alkohol ink

Somes edges are distressed and heat embossed, too

Kinda cool overlays for other projects, too.
Take a look at the DT projects here and remember, the winning entry will be, among other things, appear in the UK's number one stamping magazine.
Plenty of time till 4. October and i hope you'll have a go, too

12 Tags of 2013 - August

Hi Bloggers, happy monday!! (:o)
Two creative - holiday - weeks are over. My ICAD's will go into the mail tomorrow. The cabinet is ready painted. I already showed the beauty on FB. Going to post it here sometime, if it fits a theme. Some bigger projects are ready but still secret. You'll discover them in the course of the next two weeks.
I also managed to create two tags for Tim's 12 tags of 2013   after i skipped the july tag. This time it wasn't that bad, because i could change the mask sheets into handmade masks.

Back to normal work, now.
Have a nice start into a new week.
See you wednesday, with my *Take it, Make it* project for Craft Stamper Challenge Four and i can't tell you enough, how much i love your ahhh - ma - zing comments.♥
Thanks soooo much

TIO # 148 Nature - Time - Orange

DragonsDream *Tag It On* has a new receipe: Nature - Time - Orange and of course, one real stamp.

I've cut an # 8 size tag from white speciality stamping paper, stamped on the background with versamark and used clear embossing powder. The flower stamp is from Chocolate Baroque and the quote stamps are Katzelkraft. I distressed the background with DI Spiced Marmelade and stamped another quote with the same DI on top. The butterflies from Tim Holtz Papillon Set are stamped on acetate and glued to the tag with glossy accents. The edges around the tag are heat embossed with Snowflake embossing powder,. I finished with Stickles Orange Peel on top of the butterflies and around the edges of the tag.

I hope you like and have a play. Look at the DT tags here

Owl Watch You

A new challenge at  Octopode Factory is asking for eyes and i was happy to create a new page for my art journal. The images don't have to be from Octopode, but your name goes twice into the prize pool if you do.

First, i enlarged the digi steampunk - owl  image you can get at Octopode's Etsy, to fit my eye stamp. I used an inkjet printer and printed the owl image on glossy paper. I stamped the eye on acetate and i coloured the owl with distress inks.

I stamped the background on speciality stamping paper, with archival ink and StazOn in different colours. I started around the edges with Versamark and clear embossing powder

The eyes for the steampunk owl are painted on the back of the acetate with alkohol inks and i cut some eyelashes for the fun

Here you have it, a new page in my journal

The pages are 16 x 16 cm

Matchbox - Shrine

Happy Monday, dear blogger (:o) Time is running and i still haven't post my contribution for the actual SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenge *Matchbox Steampunk*
Well, i'm playing a lot with Aves Apoxie Clay and i found a video on YouTube, where someone's creating claws for a dragon. I had a try, too and incorporated a claw in my Matchbox Shrine.

The frame for the matchbox is made from copper foil. I traced handfree on the back with a stylos tool and painted the front

Below you see another claw in the making. It start's with one finger, modeling around some wire. I used 4 fingers, to mold a claw. Then, modeling around every single finger, to get the nails in

Maybe you like this kind of " different* inspiration, because i'm always nosy about the *how to make it*

Distressed Jam - Pot

As you know, i'm currently doing a Michael DeMeng online workshop on distressed and disturbed dolls. It's a workshop about his painting techniques and the substrates are doll - heads. I'm always trying to create something me, but i can't help myself, i've the same affection with Cyklops (:o)

I've mounted the head on a jam - pot and used ( among other things) a  lot DecoArt acrylic paint

Hope you like it!

ICAD - SWAP

A ....what? I'm participating in an ICAD - Swap, the lovely Astrid is hosting at Astrid's Artistic Efforts. ICAD stand for Index Card A Day. The card measurements are 3" x 5"

Well, i'm going to show you daily ICAD's now.......no! I'm kidding (:o) The idea was a group swap. I'm trading *to* 6 awesome creative ladies and i get 6 in return, from 6 other ladies. The return will be another post.

- Time To Play                                                  - May's Happy Daze
- Redanne                                                         - Pushing The Right Buttons
- Late Night Stamping                                        - Scrumplescrunch

Now, i'm showing you the ICAD's and holders i've created. I first made the cards and afterward created the holders. My idea was, to create something identical to catch the look of the cards and because i love bags, i've created some kind of a briefcase from cotton - fabric.

Below you see the cut version

I painted the fabric two times with Gesso on both sides......

....then painted with DecoArt Acrylic Paint the identical colours to catch the card

...stamping...

 ...spraying with my homemade spraypaint...

.....texture...

...finished with a varnish

I did the same process only with different colours and materials to all bags....i think you get the idea

Ok...and now....drumroll.....the finished ICAD's and holders

*Dream*

*Vintage*

*Retro*

*Inspire*

*Believe*

*Steampunk*

Well ladies, now you have to wait till the postman rings (:o)
Thanks so much  Astrid, hosting this swap.♥
This is what came from my passion and i really hope you like it.
Thanks for reading and all your appreciated comments
