A few of the bloggers this week are new to hopping, so if you have an issue with any of the links, here's a little tip! If you get a page that says "Sorry that Page is not here" or something similar, try clicking on the header of the blog, or look for something that says Home. The hop page should be near the top of the day's posts. We will fix broken links as the day goes on, as well, so check back here if you are really lost.

Step by step

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Translucent White, Hansa Yellow Medium, Cadmium Orange Hue, Cadmium Red Hue, Cobalt Teal Hue, Quinacridone Gold, Media Matte Medium, Traditions Artist Acrylic Raw Umber and Weathered Wood Crackle Medium
Stampendous Mish Mesh Cling Rubber Stamps and Wired Cling Rubber Stamps by Nathalie Kalbach Studio

I hope you can identify an owl shape from cotton fabric. Two pieces of fabric roughly sewn by hand. Don't worry too much about the sewing part because the main thing's shut and you can fill it with batting. The seam will be hidden with paint

Cut two pieces for arms, too. Apply a layer of Matte Medium and let dry

Paint the body and the arms with acrylic paint raw umber

Next i've used pieces of newspaper and stamped with StazOn

Go wild with painting in different colours. Use the free templates from the stampsets and create different patterns. Stamp with StazOn on top again

Rip the newspaper in little pieces and glue to the body with Matte Medium

I've glued the newspaper to the front only and applied a layer of Matte Medium to the back on top of the painted fabric to seal the body

Apply Weathered Wood Crackle Medium to the arms and let dry

Paint Media Cobalt Teal Hue on top and watch the cracks appearing. When the paint is dry glue on some little strips of the painted newspaper with Matte Medium

Stamp on cardstock for eyes and beak. Use the paint on top. The fluids are translucent and the stamping is still showing thru

Glue eyes and beak to the body with Matte Medium. Sew the arms to the body

Glue or sew on some nice buttons. I wish i had an US button :)

I used the hotglue gun to attach the skirt which had a paint treatment, too just to fit the colours of the owl and i sewed on a belly belt made from pearls of old -fashion earrings

Well crafty's time to say thank you for your huge interest and your appreciated comments.
Maybe you come back once a while to get some mixed media inspiration.
Good Luck for the prize

Was machen deine Gartenprojekte?

Manu
