TIO # 170 Letter K and a heart

Happy friday (:o)

Well it seems i'm back to normal. I've finished my tag for the recent challenge at DragonsDream with Sylvia's chosen receipe: Letter K and a heart.

The tag im using i've cut from speciality stamping paper. I applied Distress Ink Peacock Feathers to the background and stamped the LaBlanche stamp with Archival black.

Next i've used a mixture of Matte Medium and Perfect Pearls with a stencil.

The heart ( Wendy Vecchi art parts) had a layer of Gesso first.....

followed by Modeling Paste with the same stencil i've used on the tag background

I've painted two layers of Media Fluid Acrylics Quinacridene Red.....

and applied Media Crackle Glaze on top

On top of the glaze i applied a wash of Media Fluid Acrylics Metallic Gold folllowed by a wash of Media Fluid Burnt Umber

Rusty wire and Stickles Diamond for the finish

I hope you like my inspiration (:o)

Finally a little update of my growing gourd plants

We didn't had much sunshine but when the sun is shining...you can watch them growing a few cm daily.

Thanks for your appreciated comments
Happy weekend

xoxo

HI Elly!

I love this tag! And look at your gourd plant GO!

I have a silly question.... What does everyone do with their tags? I've seen alot of people around BlogLand creating tags.... Are they collected like ATC's or do you actually use them for gift giving? Do you put a 'TO:' and a 'From:' on the back? Just wondering what their purpose is. Do you just trade them with other people? And then what store them in a book or something?? I've seen some beautiful ones. Including yours! And it has me curious..Hugs! deb

Now there's an interesting question! I can only speak for myself of course,I store mine in a lovely little natural type box thing from IKEA. I know that some people do swap them but that's more common with ATCs.

I just think the size 8 tag is a great size to work with, most stamps fit it,it's small but big enough to get most of your design on. Doesn't take up much storage and off course you can add them to journal pages or a bigger piece of art.

Hope I made sense there :)

Hugs

Dein Tag sieht mal wieder klasse aus, tolle Farbkombi. Die Struktur auf dem Herz ist super. Danke für deine Teilnahme bei Dragons Dream Tag It On.

Love the tag Elly. Deb was asking the question re. storage of tags. I like to make mine into a tag book by attaching them with a large loose leaf book ring which I often decorate with ribbon etc.
but I know there are boxes with dowelling that can hold the tags too.
Although they are not swapped like ATCs I have a friend who I swap with and we have included tags as one of our projects.
Hope that's helpful.
Have a good weekend and happy crafting, Angela x

Elly, Your tag is gorgeous! i have those art parts and for the life of me did not know what to do with them!! I love what you have made and all of your cool steps! And I had no idea DecoArt had so many new products- thank you for showing them to us!!

re: Deb
My two cents about the tags...many people add their finished tags to their art journals whether tucked in r attached to a page. and yes, there are Tag Swap groups in blogland- I have participated in a few ")

Hast Du keine Angst? Steht sie fest im Topf? Verfolgt sie Dich nachts? :-)
Knutschi, Manu
