Jimi - Industrial Frame

Hello crafty friends (:o)

Let's rock with Jimi Hendrix

During the vacation i had a play with the new DecoArt Media Line
Frame: DecoArt Media Gesso, Fluid Acrylics Metallic Gold / Payned Grey, Crackle Paint, Antiquing Cream Carbon Black / English Red Oxide, Matte Medium, DecoArt Traditions Artist Acrylic Medium Grey Value 6 and Metallic Lustre Black Shimmer / Silver Spark. From my stash: Wood Frame, Silver Acrylic Paint, Sand Paper, Stencils and StazOn Cloudy Sky
Picture: DecoArt Media Acrylics Quinacridone Gold / Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide / Titanium White / Carbon Black and Ultra - Matte Varnish. From my stash: Cardboard, Patterned Cardstock, Printable Threshold Picture from Andy Skinner

Sand the wood frame and give it a coat of gesso

Paint frame with metallic Gold..let dry

Mixing a tiny spot of Paynes Grey to white Crackle Paint and .....

...and apply *grey* Crackle Paint to frame..let dry

Drybrush a little bit silver acrylic paint..let dry

Next..a layer of  Carbon Black Antiquing Cream..let dry

Sanding for an antique look

Stamp numers with StazOn

Seal with matte Medium

Drybrush Antiquing Cream English Red Oxide on some spots for a rusty ook

Apply some bigger numbers with acrylic paint and stencil and seal with Matte Medium

For a finish look, some Metallic Lustre black and silver on the edges

Glue pattern cardstock to heavywight cardboard. Paint the area, where i you want to transfer the picture with Media Fluid Acrylics Titanium White. Splatter with Fluid Acrylics Quinacridone Gold, Carbon Black and Titatium White. Apply a layer of Matte Medium to the background and to the threshold picture. Let dry...

Apply another layer of Matte Medium to the picture, glue to background and let dry...
Rub off the paper with a wet sponge

Seal with Ultra - Matte Varnish

A great male birthday present, don't you think?
Maybe you give it a try with your favorite picture

Wow! This is fabulous! I love all the worn texture you created on that frame and of course, that transfer of Jimi is wonderful.

It's hard to believe that it's almost 44 years since he passed. Such a loss, though his music keeps him alive.
