Mixed Media Challenge

Happy friday, crafty friends (:o)

The Mirror Crack'd is a new mixed media / altered art style challenge blog.
The first theme is *Anything Goes* but no cards are allowed.

Sue from Scrumplescrunch  (one of the DT members) wrote on her blog: Working with mixed media can be scary..... and this gave me the idea for my project

An altered Dino(saur) box

I started with a plain wood box. I've cut a Dino ( with two heads) apart and mounted the separate parts to the box with Apoxie Clay.

I painted a layer of gel medium and applied Decoart texture crackle

Next was a layer of black acrylic paint

More cracks and texture with Kroma Crackle and drybrushed everything with white acrylic paint

Started painting the heads....

...tail and feets next....

..and the rest of the box with layers of Decoart Artist Traditions Acrylic Paint

Well, looks a little bit like something Jurassic Park don't you think?
I hope you feel inspired to join the challenge at The Mirror Crack'd

Thanks for your appreciated comments

Hello Elly,
You made me laugh... Goodness this is amazing; it is unique, conceptual and yes a little scary looking too.
Gorgeous in some ways as well, it is a difficult piece to describe as it is so very different which is what I love about it. Fantastic work as usual, you make it look so easy to create, the heads of the dinosaurs are incredible. Thankyou Elly for joining in and supporting this Challenge, we are thrilled that you did.
