Dragons Dream TIO #161

Happy wednesday crafty friends (:o)

Dragons Dream *Tag It On* challenge has a new receipe chosen by Elizabeth which is the letter A and not a usual tag shape ..well.. of course one real stamp at least. Besides i'm very happy to be the Guest Designer for this weeks challenge, too.

Angel with attitude

My unusual shape started with hand - drawing and cutting....

...followed by stamping and heat embossing.

I used Distress Ink Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry for the background. The wings are cut from grungepaper. The wooden gears are painted with Dabber Pitch black and had a treatment with DecoArt Metallic Lustre *Gold Rush* on top. I also used Diamond Stickles here and there.

Some metal gears and halfpearls for the ballance

Maybe you think you're more a type of

I have a bonus tag for you

The house shape was cut from a size 10 tag...

..and mounted onto corrugated cardboard

Well, i hope you are inspired by now and join the fun in large numbers (:o)
Hop over to see the Dragon's Dream DT creations.

Timeless - Canvas Clock - DecoArt DT Tutorial

Hello my crafty friends (:o)

I had a huge space of blanc wall in my tv room, which needed a focal point and i thought a simply clock will be too small and look a bit lost. I decided to create a big time - themed canvas and incorporated a clock.

               and Faux Finish
               1 x Canvas ( 70 cm x 40 cm), 1 x Canvas 20 x 20, 8 x Canvas Panels 5 x 5
Wood Letters, Wood Gears, Clock stencils, Clock stamps, Distress Embossing Powder
Tea Dye, Archival ink black, Clock - work mechanism, Sticky numbers

Step by Step
Click on the pictures for a larger view

I started painting the wood letters and i used the same colour range with all pieces

Next step was stamping some letters...

..and some others got some paint splatters. I also used a wash of Decoart Traditions Artist Acrylic Paint Quinacridone Gold on top, for a more grungy look. The letters are sealed with Matt Varnish

Then the canvas panels where painted

I used stencils.....

...stamped with Archival ink and applied a wash of Quinacridone Gold. Used the Archival ink around the edges and Matt Varnish on top.

Next was the 20 x 20 canvas
The canvas was painted with Antique White and i used Milk Chocolate with a clock stencil. I also drybrushed a border

The biggest canvas was painted with Pebbles.
The next four pictures show you how i'm using a stencil. The paint was applyed with a small brush

Next was to figure out my layout and where to paint more clocks

I've painted the wood gears and embellishments with Milk Chocolate in between and used Distress Embossing Powder on top while the paint on the canvas was drying

Another clock stencil on the big canvas

...and also a wash with Quinacridone Gold on top. Sealed with Faux Finish and used the Archival ink around the edges.

Then i've placed the clock - work mechanism to the back of the smaller canvas.
I needed to stretch the canvas because the weight of the clock

Glued a metal gear to the middle part. Decided to use one more clock stencil. Sealed with Faux Finish and mounted the handles

Arranged all my pieces and glued all of them to the canvas with a hotglue gun.
Finally decorated with some sticky numbers

The biggest canvas has a hole in the back to change the battery

I'm really excited about your appreciated comments (:o)

Have a nice weekend

TIO #160

Happy Thuesday (:o)

The new receipe at DragonsDream *Tag It On* challenge is the letter G, birds and at least one real stamp.
It's a long time since i've created something girly, right?
Well, not that girly that i'm using pink (:o)

I own two of Jullie Nutting stamps and i really don't use them often enough. It's always a jump back into my childhood, when playing with these stamps and creating new dresses for the girls.
That's why i love the DragonsDream challenge. Creating just for fun.

Thanks for your appreciated comments.

Take It - Make It

Happy monday (:o)

Challenge 7 is about the repeat stamping technique, Lydia Brooke Evans shows in the current march issue of Craft Stamper magazine. Read all about the guidelines here.

As you know me, cards are a real challenge for me and just because it's the month of love and valentines day, i decided to create a wedding card.

I hope you like my repeat stamped wedding card and maybe you feel inspired to join the challenge, too.
Get your small stamps out! You're all a better stamper than me (:o)
Look at the DT creations and join the fun.
This month you can win some cool stamps from Visible Image and the DT is choosing their Top 3. The overall winner will get published and the featured guest designer for the midway reminder post for the next challenge.
