When it comes to painty, messy backgrounds (can't help myself, but i'm not a Gelli Plate artist)...i'm absolutely out of my comfort zone.
I'm total getting lost and all my backgrounds will turn out brown- ish, when i'm creating without any inspiration. With this type of backgrounds i'll always have a look at my favorite admired artists and in this case it's a journal page created by the full time mixed media artist, currently the Editor at Craft Stamper Magazine, Trish Latimer
The base are sanded and pre - gessoed playing cards
I started by mixing DecoArt Media Fluid Arylics Titan Buff and Prussian Blue Hue
Below you see the different amount you need...
I painted with a sponge
Next i've stamped Media Fluid Acrylics Titanium White
(Stamp from LaBlanche)
Applied also Media Fluid Acrylics Titanium White with a bubble stencil
Same bubble stencil and Media Fluid Acrylics Green Gold
Below you see the background so far....
Stripes made with an old credit card, curves painted with a brush
Next colour Media Fluid Acrylics Pyrrole Red
Stamped circles with a lid from an empty bottle
Some accents with black permanent marker
Now...for the embellishments....painted watercolour paper with the same colours i've used before
Ignore the grey.....i didn't used it
A sheet of patterned paper from an old basic grey line
Painted stripes with Spectrum Aqua Markers
The cutting part
Adhered the individual parts to the card
More painty accents with a small brush ( notice the tiny dots in white and red)
Sealed the whole card with DecoArt Media Ultra - Matte Varnish to get rid of any shine...
...because the only shine i wanted to leave was on the heart and that was archived with DecoArt Media Gloss Varnish
Yes, 14 cards...!!
One for me...and 13 for you....if you paticipated the swap
