Lanzarote - Canary Islands - Spain

Hello Peeps (:o)

Lanzarote, a spanish island, is the easternmost of the autonomous Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean. Lanzarote is the third most populous island of the Canary Islands, after Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

Lanzarote is located 62 miles off the North West Coast of Africa, 7 miles north - east of Fuerteventura and just over 0,62 miles from Graciosa.
The dimensions of the island are 37 miles from north to south and 16 miles from west to east. Lanzarote has 132 miles of coastline of which 6 miles are sand, 10 miles are beach and the remainder is rocky. There are five hundred different kinds of plants on the island.

Mass tourism is limited to just three resort areas on the island, so you can enjoy a quiet, peaceful getaway visiting small fishing villages and secluded coves, or of the vibrant  nightlife and the comforts of luxury resorts and rich cultural centres.

From the spectacular volcanic landscape of the Timanfaya National Park,

the intricate cave formations of Jameos Del Agua to the action packed surfing beaches of Famara,

Lanzarote has a depth and beauty which makes it a totally unique place to visit.

For the most part of Lanzarote remains relatively unspoiled thanks to César Manrique,

the islands most famous son born in 1919. He was a visionary environmentalist, artist and designer and leader of a movement to conserve and protect Lanzarote's unique landscape.

Lanzarote is well known for its year round sunshine and enjoys a rather sleepy pace of life, with the opportunity to explore, discover and relax all in one.
