Mixed Media Doorhanger

Hello Crafters and Makers (:o)

So....did you had a fabulous hour at Hochanda yesterday?
How we love it, to see Andy Skinner in action :o)
I guess you don't be surprised to see me using his products today

I had a play with a 12" plywood doorhanger, Andy Skinner Industrial Elements from Tando Creative and lots of DecoArt Media products

Don't forget to click on the pictures for a larger view

Supplies:
DecoArt Media: Gesso White, Modeling Paste, Liquid Glass, Texture Sand Paste, Matte Medium, Ultra - Matte Varnish, Antiquing Cream Carbon Black, Titanium White, Patina Green, Raw Umber, Media Fluid Acrylics Carbon Black, Titan Buff, Cerulean Blue, Transparent Red Iron Oxide, English Red Iron Oxide, Quinacridone Gold
Tando Creative: Andy Skinner Industrial Elements
LaBlanche: 12"plywood doorhanger, door knob, scrapbook paper clock, metal glas cabochon
Other: Sandpaper, Archival black ink, Vaseline, RubOns

First i've created some kind of a layout

Prime doorhanger with Gesso

Appply Modeling Paste with stencil

Stick first layer of chipboard into the wet Modeling Paste and let dry.

Glue other pieces of chipboard down with Liquid Glass

Another layer of Gesso to all pieces. Glue metal cap of cabochon to gear.

Bring on Texture Sand Paste to some spots for texture and reveal rust

Paint Media Fluid Acrylics Raw Umber as shown and also apply Vaseline to some spots

Paint two or three layers of Media Fluid Acrylics Titan Buff to door plate

Mix Titanium White and Cerulean Blue and paint the mix to rectangle piece

Use a fine brush to paint Titan Buff to the small corner pieces beside the gear

Next apply Antiquing Cream Carbon Black, let dry and wipe some paint off with a damp cloth

Now seal doorhanger mith Matte Medium

Same procedure as before, with Antiquing Cream Titanium White

In the meantime sand the door plate where the vaseline was applied

Again seal with a layer of Matte Medium

Paint gear with Media Fluid Acrylics Transparent Red Iron Oxide and glue glass cabochon inside the metal with Media Liquid Glass.

Glue gear to backside of doorhanger with Liquid Glass. Also painting other gears with Media Fluid Acrylics Transparent Red Iron Oxide and on some spots with English Red Oxide

Prepare door knob

Apply door knob to door plate. Glue clock from paper underneath

Paint a layer of Media Antiquing Cream Patina Green, let dry and wipe off some of the cream

First stamp with Titan Buff and on top with Archival black ink. You can use any stamp you have on hand because you're using the second impression. It's just about some texture

Paint smaller plate with Titan Buff. Glue *Times* from paper to the middle with Liquid Glass. When dry apply Liquid Glass also on top of *Times*. Let dry
Paint fake screws with Quinacidone Gold and glue to plate
Paint Antiquing Cream Raw Umber around the plate with a fine brush

Also paint Antiquing Cream Raw Umber around blue plate and small pieces.

Seal doorhanger and all plates and pieces completely with Ultra - Matte Varnish
